Soledad Rodríguez Sánchez – Tabernero - President of MUNUSAL and Head of Ex-Com

Soledad is a graduate in Law and in Translation and Interpreting. After an Erasmus year at the Katholieke Universiteit van Leuven (Belgium), she is back in Salamanca to pursue an MA in European Studies.

An MUN enthusiast, affected by the MUN virus since the very first edition of MUNUSAL, she has participated in various MUNs across Europe as delegate and chairperson. From her MUN career, she keeps her passion for international law and politics, her love for multiculturalism and diversity, and a big bunch of great friends for a lifetime.

After a wonderful experience as chairperson of the Security Council at MUNUSAL 2011, Soledad is thrilled to take up this totally new experience as President of the MUNUSAL Association and hopes to make our 5th edition even more memorable.

Andrés Izurieta Andrade - Vice President of External Relations

Currently studying law in the University of Salamanca, Andrés has been organizing and participating in MUNs for several years now. After seeing the positive effects it has on people both inside and outside of the conference room, he now focuses his energy in trying to extend the MUN philosophy around the world and trying to get as many people as possible involved in this marvelous activity.  That is why with great pleasure he represents MUNUSAL in EMUNNET.

Originally born in Quito-Ecuador he moved to Spain to Salamanca some years ago to further his studies in law. He is very happy as he enjoys both law and the things Salamanca has to offer.  One of the things he enjoys the most of the MUN conference is meeting new people so he is looking forward to meeting everyone that comes!

Javier García-Bernalt Fernández - Secretary of MUNUSAL and Excom member

Born in Salamanca and Currently Studying fourth course of a double degree in Law and business at the University of Salamanca, Javier is at his second year of MUN experience, charmed by the ambience and all that surrounded MUNUSAL, he is definitely willing to be linked to this world for several years.

His like for organizing and the good knowledge he has of Salamanca encouraged him to join the association and he hopes to collaborate making this model something hard to forget.

He loves meeting new people, and all the socializing events, and sharing experiences with other culture people makes this for him a very enjoyable experience.

Moreover, he has another hobbies like sports, cinema and he is a passionate of music.

Javier Sierra Pierna - Treasurer of MUNUSAL and Fundraising Manager

After completing a MA in Economic Analysis of Law and Public Policies, Javier Sierra is a PhD student in Economics at the University of Salamanca.

He has a large experience in MUN both as delegate, organizer and more recently as chairperson. As a member of the MUNUSAL EXCOM since the very begining, he has held different responsibilities in the organization of the conference.

What he likes the most about Model United Nations is that students from all over the world are always learning from the incredible people you meet in the conferences. The multicultural exchange that takes part during the simulations allows all delegates to discover new points of view about local and global problems, and he is pretty sure that this will make difference in the near future.

He has been involved in many and very different activities and loves travelling, reading, enjoying nature and spending long nights talking with friends while listening to great music.

Mónica Vara Pérez - Logistics manager

Deeply involved in the Biotechnology Major at the University of Salamanca, Mónica is always ready to participate in cultural activities, learning new points of view and making new friends.

She got hooked on Model world few years ago, when she had the unique opportunity to take part in several Model European Parliament sessions. International issues, multicultural opinions and brand new experiences about to be discovered are only some of the reasons why she joined MUNUSAL last year, when she had an unforgettable time at the Security Council. This year, she truly believes in making MUNUSAL 2012 the ultimate experience.

Vladimir Rauta - Recruitment manager

Currently enrolled in a MA in International Relations at the University of Nottingham, Vladimir has been interested in the political phonomena, as well as in the broad domain of international relations, for as long as he can remember. Having taken notice of the many facets of politics from literature, Vladimir followed the study of the domain at university, developing a special interest in security related matters, as well as in political philosophy. The passion for political discourse led him to attend the first edition of Napomun in 2009, and soon got caught up in a series of Muns,as delegate, as chairperson and as a Secretary General. Having represented Libya in the African Union at MUNUSAL 2010, he is now extremely excited to join the team of MUNUSAL 2012, this time as part of the Ex-Com.

 

Pablo Herrera Cruz – Excom member

Pablo was born in Quito, Ecuador and lived all his childhood there. At 17 he left towards Flekke, Norway to pursue the International Baccalaureate program at the Red Cross Nordic United World College. His years in Europe had just begun as he then moved towards Copenhagen, Denmark to begin a BSc. in Business, Language and Culture at Copenhagen Business School. Upon completion, life took him along with his family towards Edmonton, Canada for a couple years to work and develop professionally.

Nowadays Pablo find´s himself back in Salamanca, studying an MA in Economic Analysis of Law and Public Policies. To him, this city has a natural charm that kept calling back – this time for a more permanent timeframe than just a week, or two.

His MUN career began when he was thirteen years old, and ever since it is something that has become an organic part of his life. Having participated last MUNUSAL as Secretary General, and in two previous occasions as chair, he is eager to keep participating in his favorite MUN, this time as part of the MUNUSAL Association.
